Nepal Hosted Global Cyber Security Summit 2018

Information Security Response Team Nepal (NPCERT) is a group of cybersecurity professionals in Nepal to address the urgent need for the protection of information. It is carrying various cybersecurity events within the country and beyond. It works closely with law enforcement agencies as well as ICT Communities in Nepal such as the Nepal Police, Departments of IT, Bankers, National ICT Council, ISP, CAN Federation, Center For Cyber Security Research and Innovation, ICT Association of Nepal, One Cover Pvt. Ltd. Computer Security incident response teams and various computer security initiatives worldwide to address the cybersecurity concerns as well as the probability of successful attacks and the risk of consequential damage.

Information Security Response Team Nepal (NPCERT) jointly with ICT Frame Magazine has hosted a Global Cyber Security Summit (GCSS) 2018 on July 27 and 28 in the theme “Building Global Alliance for Cyber Resilience“with Cisco System as a main title sponsor. The objective of the summit was to provide a creative and productive platform for professionals in the field of Cybersecurity. It was an unparalleled opportunity for global leaders in the domain of cybersecurity to create a more secure world. The first-ever global cybersecurity summit 2018 is chaired and led by Founder President at npCert (Information Security Response Team Nepal) Mr. Chiranjibi Adhikari. This great event was inaugurated by Dr. Jiba Raj Pokharel, Vice-Chancellor of Nepal Academy of Science and Technology (NAST) along with a chief guest from Ministry of Communication and Information Technology (MOCIT), National Information Technology Center (NITC), Department of IT (DOIT), Government of Nepal, Nepal Banker’s Association, CAN Federation, Internet Society, npiX, ICANN, Cisco, Nepal Police, Nepal Telecommunications Authority (NTA, Log point, Checkpoint, and other Institutions.  It empowers professionals and organizations to build security resilience by bringing in contemporary issues of cybersecurity, mitigation strategies, and solutions with comprehensive Cybersecurity infrastructure. GCSS 2018 highlighted the silos between business objectives and cybersecurity readiness in changing the landscape of security threats.

The objectives of the conference are:
